HUDSON PRIDE FOUNDATION, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH COLUMBIA COUNTY OFFICE FOR THE AGING AND SPONSORED BY MERILL LYNCH, PRESENTS

GEN SILENT

AT THE HUDSON OPERA HOUSE JANUARY 27 FROM 2 - 4PM

Hudson, NY 01/05/2013 – The Hudson Pride Foundation and The Columbia County Office for the Aging, present the critically acclaimed documentary Gen Silent from filmmaker Stu Maddux, to be screened at the Hudson Opera House - 327 Warren Street, Hudson, NY on January 27 at 2pm. This free screening is underwritten by Merrill Lynch, our corporate sponsor for this event. No registration is required and this is open to all age groups.

What would you do if you were old, disabled, or ill - and the person feeding you put down the spoon and said that you are going to hell unless you change your sexual preference? Sound absurd? Social Workers around the world say it is happening every day.

Gen Silent, from film maker Stu Maddux (Bob and Jack's 52-year adventure, Trip to Hell and Back), asks six LGBT seniors if they will hide their friends, their spouses, their entire lives in order to survive in the care system.

Gen Silent premiered at the Boston LGBT Film Festival and has also been screened at:

The Frameline Film Festival

The Provincetown International Film Festival

The New York Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Film Festival

The Melbourne Queer Film Festival

The North Carolina Gay & Lesbian Film Festival

Duke University Medical Center - Health Care Staff

Massachusetts House of Representatives - Lawmakers

Harvard University

University of Michigan in Ann Arbor

Yale University
